Volcanic Remnants, Archival Art Print
- 5x7” and 12x18” -
Limited edition fine art print made from a watercolor painting.
Black sand beaches are usually formed when fragments of lava and other volcanic minerals get broken down over centuries by the ocean. Punalu'u beach is a well-known black sand beach on the island of Hawaii I’ve been to. My use of salt turned the black sand into lava rock.
This painting was inspired by a photograph taken by free surfer Fabien Storck of a black sand beach in Guadeloupe, located in the southern Caribbean Sea.
